One Habit to Break Right Now
Stereotypically, women try to be everything for everybody, both professionally and in their personal lives. Too often, women limit themselves by keeping their heads down and staying quiet. Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg speaks on this in terms of holding yourself back by not raising your hand.
If you were to ask yourself the following question, what would your answer be?
What are you doing in your life right now that is more about PLEASING someone than GETTING RESULTS?
At the end of the day, your life is about you. So, if you're in the habit of doing any of the following, choose one habit to quit right here, right now:
Apologizing for doing your work
Keeping good ideas to yourself
Not telling your others how much you appreciate them
Withholding compliments from a peer
Not speaking up when someone isn't being treated well (including yourself!)
Experiment this week with speaking up when a friend does something awesome that you may not normally congratulate them on or sharing an idea in a meeting that you may normally have kept to yourself.
