Best Places to Order Martinis in SLC

Written by: MADELINE FERGUSON

Last week, we helped you learn how to order your perfect martini. Now, it’s time to put those skills to the test.

With all of the ways you can order a martini, it is essential that you get out there and try a few to really hone in your taste and see what you like.

So, here are some of the best places to order a martini in Salt Lake City.

The Red Door

The Red Door is a martini bar, so of course it is at the top of our list. You can, of course, order a martini at any bar, but why not try a place that specializes in your drink of choice for the evening.

The Red Door is in downtown Salt Lake City. It’s a great place to meet friends and enjoy something off their delicious menu. I recommend “The Vesper”, their James Bond-inspired signature.

Water Witch

While Water Witch specializes in craft cocktails, they make a mean martini. I ordered one last weekend and was SO IMPRESSED.

The Vault

It’s like a rite of passage to order a martini from a hotel bar, and honestly, it makes you fell pretty bad-ass. The Vault in downtown Salt Lake City is a fancy hotel bar with perfect vibes for martini drinking.

It’s located in Hotel Monaco.

White Horse

While White Horse is known for their impressive selection of ciders, they make a mean martini and with lots of salty appetizer options to pair with your drink, you’re in for a lovely evening at this downtown Salt Lake City staple.

Lake Effect

Overall, Lake Effect is probably the most fun bar on this list. It’s huge and depending on which room you are in, you can get a totally different vibe based on what you are looking for on any given evening. It’s a popular bar in downtown Salt Lake City, with a true night-life feel.

Their martinis are well-made and delicious. They often have live music on the weekend and incredible food options.

Prohibition

If you don’t want to deal with the parking, crowds and transportation of downtown Salt Lake City, check out Prohibition, located in Murray, Utah. It’s a fun bar themed during the 1930s prohibition era. They make a mean martini and have a fun selection of specialty cocktails.

Bar X

And finally, the one you’ve probably already been to… Salt Lake City’s famous Bar X. It’s well-known for good reason (other than their fabulous outdoor sign), they make amazing cocktails. You can absolutely get an amazing, crisp martini but their mixologists know a lot about drinks and can mix you up something a little fancier based on your own personal taste.

And a bonus with Bar X is that it sits right next to Beer Bar, so if you’re going out with friends who like beer better than cocktails, everyone will be pleased.

Have fun and be safe out there!
