If you are considering Ketamine as a treatment for depression and pain be sure to catch this article by Dr. Julia Mirer as she draws attention to the history of the drug and cautions uninformed patients as to the use of it for their conditions. Trending treatments can leave many users dissatisfied because of their lack of understanding or preconceived expectations.

In 2019, the FDA granted Ketamine a “breakthrough therapy designation” for treatment-resistant depression.

Currently, Ketamine is advertised as being able to treat the symptoms of depression and PTSD. This promise for healing is appealing to people who suffer from these conditions and the doctors and therapists who spend their careers watching their patients suffer. It is not surprising that the popularity of off-label Ketamine use is rising.
