Pleasure is Healing

The human brain is a fascinating beast, isn’t it? Neuroscientists are discovering new aspects of our brains and minds, including the various synapse firings that they are learning more and more about. What happens in the brain when you experience pleasure is quite miraculous. Pleasure is not a luxury, but a necessity for health and wellness. Our brains light up like fireworks when we orgasm and thank goodness, as it is a natural antidepressant and who doesn’t need an increase of that these days? Focusing on ourselves and our wellness is key to a long and healthy life, so if that is where you are at, then you are in the right place to get back to basics.

Pleasure in the everyday

Sexual pleasure is easier to come by when you are experiencing pleasure outside the confines of the bedroom. Make self-care mandatory. Eat well, exercise, visit the spa and local sauna, take a bubble bath, have some alone time -- just do what feels good and right to you. As pleasure becomes part of your everyday life, the easier it is to find that pleasure mindset in the bedroom.

Pick up a hobby

Self-actualization is important to access that pleasure part of your brain by increasing confidence and self-worth. When you engage in something you enjoy you are energizing and motivating your sense of purpose, a big dopamine boost. Have you ever felt “in the mood” after something you created came to life? Hobbies give us zest for life and give our brian a dopamine boost, enhancing our sexual desire.

Get some rays

The sun is our #1 source of Vitamin D. Vitamin D is an essential mood stabilizer and antidepressant! The optic nerve is attached to the brain, so when sunlight hits the eye, sunlight travels down the optic nerve and directly stimulates the hypothalamus, the part of the brain responsible for stress regulation. Obesity and mood disorders are directly correlated to low levels of Vitamin D. Chronic stress is a buzz-kill, or should I say a mood killer? Even during the winter, find ways to spend at least 15 minutes outside everyday.

Fantasize

Have fun fantasizing. Your brain is your most powerful sex organ. Create an erotic fairy tale and imagine the setting, the who, and the how. Everyone fantasizes. Fantasizing does not mean that you are going to cheat! In fact, fantasy may be what keeps humans from cheating. Don’t play the shame game with yourself or your partner(s). Exercising your imagination can enhance sexual pleasure with your partner(s).

Erogenous Zones

Figure out what your erogenous zones, ask your partner(s) theirs and get to playing. Why not try a yoni massage. In Sanskrit the word Yoni translates to “sacred space”. This is a tantric practice of sensual massage that focuses on nipples, thighs, clitoris, G-Spot, navel, ears, anus, etc. Turn on a playlist and take your time with a partner or on your own.

Connection

Communication matters! Learn to listen, ask questions, empathize, and just talk to each other. This kind of connection is HOT.

Adult toys

Playtime can be enhanced with toys and things that vibrate are always a great option.

Here are two of my favorite vibrators:

  1. Le Wand, for intense full body orgasms

  2. HOTT OCTOPUSS JETT RING, a powerful guybrator that fits around the frenulum

What are you waiting for? Make pleasure a lifestyle. Spend time outside, pick up a new hobby, and shop for a new vibrator. Your mental health and wellness matters.
