New Dreamscapes Gives Psychedelic/Artistic Experience

by MADISON HINKHOUSE

Dreamscapes, an exhibit by The Utah Arts Alliance, has officially moved their bigger and better space. They are now located at The Shops at South Town in Sandy, Utah.

Dreamscapes is a self-guided, immersive,  escape from reality. Described as, “A world of dream realms, where immersive physical and digital artworks take you on an ethereal journey.”

With lights, colors and live performances, it is tough to fully encompass everything Dreamscapes offers, even after multiple visits. It’s almost like a new experience every time that bends your perceived reality in the best way. The bright colors and combination of the unnatural and natural world really does feel like a land only known from dreams.

The art is incredible and the mind-bending changes in each area will keep everyone engaged. The exhibit is a project of the Utah Arts Alliance but feels more like a trip to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, the song “Pure Imagination” would be the perfect soundtrack to a trip through this psychedelic world.

As you adventure through the rooms intended to alter your perspective, you’ll be experiencing works of art made by over 100 local artists. Local builders, artists and volunteers run the show and they work with all reclaimed materials provided by local partners. Along with being hyper-local, the attraction is environmentally sustainable.

The Utah Arts Alliances accepts volunteers and new artists for Dreamscapes, you can learn more about that here.

How To Attend Dreamscapes

It is recommended that you purchase your tickets online. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 for children, students and seniors. They also offer military and healthcare worker discounts. Dreamscapes offers an annual membership for individuals, couples or families. More information on that here.

If you want to make a date for it, I recommend checking out Slackwater Brewery that is close by. They have wonderful pizza and a massive selection of beer from all over the world. It is one of the most extensive beer lists I have ever seen.

Dreamscapes is fully accessible for all ages and abilities.

Happy exploring.
