Investing in Psychedelic-Related Stocks

by DEJA FORONDA

As psychedelics make their move into the health industry, they are having an impact on the stock market, which will only get larger as the psychedelic market grows. Investing in companies that are funding psychedelic research and studies may have big payoffs over time. So where do you start, what do you invest in, and how will you benefit?

The stock market can be rewarding in the long run. If you are new to investing, here are 5 basic things to look for before investing in a company:

-       Create a goal for your investments. How are you going to achieve that goal?

-       How long do you plan on investing? Are you prepared for the risk of losing invested money?

-       Do your research on each company before investing and what their company represents.

-       Look at performance reported quarterly, annually, 3 years and 5 years. Do those numbers line up with your investment goals?

-       Make sure to do your own research on stock investments before going forward.

After going back and forth on whether I wanted to start investing or not in psychedelic companies, I made the move and did my own research on stocks I was interested in. The ones listed down below are stocks I personally invest in or want to invest in. There are more options than the ones provided and research on your own time should be done to know whether you agree with their goals and beliefs.

-       Atai Life Sciences
-       Compass Pathways PLC
-       Cybin
-       Numinus Wellness
-       MindMed
-       Fieldtrip Health
-       PSIL ETF

You can start your research with these companies and, then, check to see if you agree with them and whether it is worth including them in your portfolio. The stock market can be daunting at first, but with enough knowledge, it is completely doable and a good way of preparing or expanding your future. We all know that as the years go by, psychedelics have been blowing the pants off of the medical world in regards to mental illness and disorder treatment. This wouldn’t have been done without these smart, future-oriented companies working hard behind the scenes.

My thought is to help keep these companies growing, and they will benefit me in the future. “When you look at the numbers, not just from a humanitarian perspective but from an economics perspective, more organizations will quickly come to the conclusion that covering access to psychedelic-assisted therapies is a good investment” which is said by Ronan Levy, executive chairman of Fieldtrip Health.

Knowing these companies and what they stand for is a good opportunity to also educate yourself on what they are doing in different areas to help bring more awareness to psychedelic-assisted therapy. The more you know, the more you can share and help transform warped stigmas surrounding psychedelics. Even if investing isn’t your thing, researching and knowing these companies can still be beneficial to you and help you understand what is going on in these studies to help them move forward in the health industry.

So whether you decide to invest or not, the knowledge and background on these companies is extremely valuable in times like these where the subject is still delicate. For those that do invest or want to invest, remember that the long term benefit outweighs the short term reward. Investing in these companies can help their studies move along and hopefully make psychedelic-assisted therapy more accessible. The future of the medical world is and will change with drug technology advancing and the stock market will thank you and, hopefully, return the favor in the long run when it comes to this industry.
